Home > Storage > PowerMax and VMAX > Storage Admin > Dell PowerMax: Ansible Modules Best Practices > Adding volumes to SRDF configuration
The storage group module automatically handles adding new volumes to a standard SRDF configuration. The underlying module has intelligence to detect if a storage group is SRDF. New volumes are added to both arrays of the SRDF storage group and synchronized in the SRDF mode of operation. For syntax and task examples, see Adding volumes.
Best Practice: Avoid mixing SRDF and non-SRDF devices in a storage group if you plan on managing the group with Ansible. Mixed device types in a storage group will render the group unmanageable by the API standard workflows for provisioning and replication.
