Service levels for PowerMaxOS allow users to prioritize applications to provide predictable and consistent performance based on business requirements. Service levels are set independently on application source volumes, linked targets, and clones at the Storage Group level. A service level set on one Storage Group does not affect the service level of other Storage Groups.
Best practice: Set appropriate service levels on Storage Groups for linked targets and clones to support the required performance. It may seem logical to set lower service levels on backup volumes, but lower service levels may affect target and clone performance.
