A firewall is one of the main issues that can cause errors in connecting to ECS. Certain ports need to be open to communicate to ECS. For instance, for Swift, ports 9024 and 9025 need to be opened. Check firewall settings on the host running OpenResty to ensure that the ports for ECS are open.
