The CloudIQ Collector is delivered as a vApp and is installed by a user with Administrator privileges to the customer’s vCenter server. Install the vApp as follows:
- Log in to vCenter.
- Select File > Deploy OVF Template.
- In the Source window, browse to and select the OVA file, and then click Next.
- On the OVF Template Details page, click Next.
- On the End User License Agreement page, select Accept and then click Next.
- On the Name and Location page, enter the name of the VM, select the location where it will be installed, and then click Next.
- On the Host/Cluster page, select the host/cluster for the VM, and then click Next.
- On the Resource Pool page, select the resource pool (if applicable) or the ESX cluster, and then click Next.
- On the Storage page, select the datastore and click Next.
- On the Disk Format page, select a format and click Next.
- On the Network Mapping page, select the appropriate network for the VM and click Next.
- On the Properties page, enter information for the following fields:
- Hostname
- IP Address in CIDR format (for example, 10.20.30.40/24)
- Default Gateway
- DNS Server #1
- DNS Server #2 (if applicable)
- Search Domain(s) (separated by spaces)
Note: If you do not enter the IP address in CIDR format, the vApp will boot but will not be reachable. In that instance, redeploy the vApp and provide the IP address in the CIDR format.
- Click Next.
- On the Ready to Complete page, review the host information and click Finish to deploy the vApp.
- Once the Deployment Completed Successfully window is displayed, power on the VM.
Note: The first boot of the vApp takes several minutes to complete initial deployment of the Collector.
