The second use case considered in this solution is to generate maximum IOPS using KV workload with the 40 CockroachDB pod configuration.
kubectl exec -it cockroachdb-client-secure -- ./cockroach workload run kv --concurrency=320 --del-percent 0 --display-every=1m --duration=20m 'postgresql://root@cockroachdb-public:26257?sslcert=%2Fcockroach%2Fcockroach-certs%2Fclient.root.crt&sslkey=%2Fcockroach%2Fcockroach-certs%2Fclient.root.key&sslmode=verify-full&sslrootcert=%2Fcockroach%2Fcockroach-certs%2Fca.crt'
During these runs, the concurrency values are changed and IOPS along with latency were observed. For all the runs, I/O latency is under 1 ms, as can be seen by the PowerFlex Manager UI in the following figure:
From the above figure, the 40 pod configuration can achieve approximately 250,000 IOPS and 210,000 ops/sec with sub-millisecond latency.
Note: During the test of every stream, the CPU utilization was about 80 percent for all the pods. No PowerFlex storage bottlenecks were seen anywhere during the testing.
