The default hostname for Bare Metal Orchestrator is bmo-globalcontroller.
If you use a corporate DNS server and need to access Bare Metal Orchestrator using an FQDN (for example: bmo-globalcontroller.my-company.com), you can change the default hostname of Bare Metal Orchestrator in the all.yml file before running the installation bundle. The steps are included in the procedures to Deploy a single node cluster and Deploy an HA Bare Metal Orchestrator cluster.
You must use the Bare Metal Orchestrator hostname to access Bare Metal Orchestrator using the web user interface.
For windows-based browsers when a company FQDN is not used, add the following entry for the Bare Metal Orchestrator hostname in the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file on the host running the web browser:
100.10.0.1 bmo-globalcontroller
where 100.10.0.1 is an example IP address for Bare Metal Orchestrator. For high availability configurations, enter the virtual IP (VIP) address of the Load Balancers. For single node configurations, enter the IP address of the server or VM that is hosting the Global Controller node.
Now enter the Bare Metal Orchestrator hostname in your web browser to access the web UI login page. For example:
https://bmo-globalcontroller
For Linux-based management consoles, add the Bare Metal Orchestrator hostname in the /etc/hosts file on your management console.
