After installation, log in to the CLI for the first time using the following steps.
Consider the following:
- An Ethernet connection to the Bare Metal Orchestrator virtual machine using SSH or Serial Over LAN (SOL) is required.
- To remotely log in using a local version of the CLI, you need a downloaded copy of the Bare Metal Orchestrator CLI installed on your local Linux machine.
- Update the host entries and map the hostname variable to the IP address of the Global Controller node. For high availability deployments, you need the VIP of the Load Balancer. The hostname can be the default hostname bmo-globalcontroller or the hostname that was assigned during installation. For more information, see the Bare Metal Orchestrator Installation Guide.
The CLI is a text-driven interface that is used for most management tasks. You can enter bmo --help
at any time for help. For more about CLI commands, see the Bare Metal Orchestrator Command Line Interface Reference Guide.
