Bare Metal Orchestrator can reset certain iDRAC system components to factory default. You can perform a factory reset while on-boarding a new server. You can factory reset the following three system components in iDRAC:
- BMC settings: Reset iDRAC settings to factory defaults.
- BIOS settings: Reset BIOS attributes to factory defaults.
- Server disk: Securely erases storage drives.
After the factory reset, wait at least five minutes before you onboard a server.
- Use SSH to log in to the iDRAC server with the iDRAC credentials.
- Use the CLI to add the server host IP address in the iDRAC.WebServer.ManualDNSEntry field. To add the server host IP address, run:
Set iDRAC.WebServer.ManualDNSEntry <server-host-ip>
Note: After one minute, the server is reachable and the iDRAC firmware is installed.
