To create tenants:
- Establish a CLI session on the Bare Metal Orchestrator VM and log in. For high availability configurations, establish a CLI session using the virtual IP (VIP) of the Load Balancers for the Bare Metal Orchestrator cluster.
- Change the directory to ~/samples/tenants.
- Create the <tenant>.yaml file by copying the sample file.
For example:
cp tenant.yaml tenant1.yaml
- Edit the <tenant>.yaml file in Vim or a similar editor.
- Specify these attributes in the <tenant>.yaml file:
- Enter the tenant name.
When creating a tenant, the tenant name:
- must start with a lower-case alphabet (a-z).
- can contain the special character "-". However the tenant name must not start or end with "-". No other special characters are allowed. For example, "-tenant1" is not allowed and "tenant-1" is allowed.
- can contain digits (0-9). However, the tenant name must not contain only digits.
- Optional: To associate servers, switches, or users, enter the values for appropriate tenant attributes. For more information, see Tenant field definitions.
For an example snapshot of the <tenant>.yaml file, see Sample tenant YAML file.
- Enter the tenant name.
- Save the file and quit the editor.
- Create a tenant using the following command:
bmo create tenant -f
<tenant>.yamlFor example:
bmo create tenant -f tenant1.yaml
Note: Repeat these steps to create other tenants.
