Create a license media object to install Dell OS10 license on a switch.
- Establish a CLI session on the Bare Metal Orchestrator VM and log in. For high availability configurations, establish a CLI session using the virtual IP (VIP) of the Load Balancers for the Bare Metal Orchestrator cluster.
- Change the directory to ~/samples/licensemedia.
- Create a license media YAML file for the uploaded license image by copying the sample file, mw_dell_licensemedia_sample.yaml.
cp <mw_dell_licensemedia_sample>.yaml <new-license-media>.yaml
- Edit the <new-license-media>.yaml file in Vim or a similar editor.
For example:
vi license_media.yaml
- Customize the <new-license-media>.yaml file with the required configurations:
- Update the name of the license media object. For more information, see Metadata.
- Provide the license file name in the licensefilename attribute.
- Optional: Provide the external IP address of the VM that is running Bare Metal Orchestrator in the secondaryIPAddress attribute.
The following is an example snapshot of the updated license_media.yaml file:apiVersion: mw.dell.com/v
kind: LicenseMedia
metadata:
name: lmedia
spec:
licensefilename: license_213.xml
# Optional: The secondary IP address is required for routing purpose if Bare Metal Orchestrator can't directly reach the switch through the static IP address.
secondaryIPAddress: "" - Save the file and quit the editor.
- Create the license media object with the following command:
bmo create licensemedia -f <new-license-media>.yaml
For example:bmo create licensemedia -f license_media.yaml
- View the created license media object with the following command:
bmo get licensemedia
- Verify the license inventory details with the following command:
bmo describe licensemedia
