Changes the default S3 storage location where the cluster backup files are saved. Typically, this location is changed to an external S3 storage location. You can use any Velero supported S3 provider for an external backup location. For more information, consult the official Velero website.
Before proceeding you must:
- Delete the current S3 backup storage location, see delete backup location.
- Delete the backup storage location secret for the current S3 backup storage location, see delete backup secret.
- Create a backup storage location secret for the new external S3 backup storage location, see create backup location.
Argument Definitions
- backuplocationname
- The name of the location where backup files are saved in the external S3 store.
- bucket
- The name of the S3 bucket in the external S3 store where the cluster backup files are saved.
- location
- The name of the backup location created on the S3 storage location.
- cacert

The CA certificate of external S3 that verifies the authenticity of the external S3.
- flags
- Optional flags you can add to the create backup location command. These include:
--address
: The address of the backup cluster--bucket
: The name for the bucket--cacert
: The CA certificate path of the backup provider-h
or--help
: Help for the backup location--name
: The name of the storage location
