The following tables describe the minimum hardware requirements for Bare Metal Orchestrator deployment and for worker nodes installed at remote sites. For more details, see the Bare Metal Orchestrator Network Planning Guide.
Global Controller hardware requirements for a single node cluster
The following table lists the hardware requirements for the Global Controller in a single node Bare Metal Orchestrator cluster deployment:
Resource | Minimum requirements |
CPU | 16 CPU cores, physical or virtual |
Memory | 32 GB RAM |
Storage | SSD |
Primary hard disk | 300 GB SSD (partition 1, sda) |
Network Interface Card (NIC) | two NICs:
|
Global Controller (CP1), redundant HA nodes (CP2 and CP3), and Load Balancer hardware requirements for an HA cluster
The following table lists the hardware requirements for the Global Controller (CP1) and the two redundant HA nodes (CP2 and CP3) when installing Bare Metal Orchestrator in a high availability (HA) deployment:
Resource | Mimimum requirements |
CPU | 32 CPU cores, physical or virtual |
Memory | 32 GB RAM |
Storage | SSD |
Primary hard disk | 300 GB SSD (partition 1, sda) |
Secondary hard disk | 500 GB SSD (partition 2, non-boot partition, sdb)1 |
Network Interface Card (NIC) | two NICs per VM:
|
The following table lists the Load Balancer node hardware requirements:
Resource | Minimum requirements |
CPU | 8 CPU cores, physical or virtual |
Memory | 8 GB RAM |
Primary hard disk | 200 GB (free space) |
Worker node hardware requirements
The following table lists the worker node hardware requirements for both single node and HA deployments:
Resource | Minimum requirements |
CPU | 16 CPU cores, physical or virtual |
Memory | 32 GB RAM |
Primary hard disk | 300 GB (free space) |
Network Interface Card (NIC) | two NICs:
