Enable basic CIFS access on DD series appliances as follows.
Note: For more information about PowerProtect DD series CIFS options, see the DDOS Administration Guide.
sysadmin@datadomain# cifs status
CIFS is enabled.
The output in the following example shows that the access for the DD share backup is open to all hosts.
sysadmin@datadomain# cifs share show

Use the following DDOS command to allow access to MediaAgent host. In the example, access to /data/col1/cvbackup is open to all servers including MediaAgent host appeng25:
sysadmin@datadomain# cifs share modify backup clients myclient
Share "cvbackup" is modified for new connections.
sysadmin@datadomain# cifs share show
Shares information for: all shares
--------------- share cvbackup ---------------
path: /data/col1/backup
maxconn: 0
clients: myclient
enabled: yes
Shares displayed: 1

Alternatively, at DD System Manager Protocols > CIFS, you can perform major CIFS operations such as enabling and disabling CIFS, setting authentication, managing shares, and viewing configuration and share information.
