After installing SmartFabric OS10, the GRUB ONIE boot menu that contains ONIE: Install OS continues to reload each time the switch reboots. | After installing SmartFabric OS10 or DIAG-OS, ONIE assumes ownership of the switch if you boot into ONIE Install mode. ONIE stays in Install mode until SmartFabric OS10 or the DIAG-OS is successfully reinstalled. To boot into ONIE for any reason other than installation, use Rescue mode or Update mode. To gain temporary access to the SmartFabric OS10 that is installed, enter c at the grub menu, and then type exit from the grub command line. This process loads the grub operating system menu where you can select OS10-A or OS10-B to boot the operating system. After entering the reload command in SmartFabric OS10, or power cycling the switch, the ONIE Install mode resumes. |
The file does not download from the web server. | By default, certain files, including those without extensions, are not accessible when using some web servers. Check the web server Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) settings, and enable downloading of all files, including those without extensions. Verify that your filename has been changed to onie-installer and not onie-updater or another name. Also, make sure the filename does not have an extension. The ONIE itself may also be updated using zero-touch and uses the name onie-updater which does not work for updating the NOS. |
