The Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite (Automation Suite) provides a feature that is called Deployment update, which enables you to update a deployment with new blueprints without having to uninstall the deployment first. The deployment update feature creates another deployment with the updated blueprint.
A typical use case of the deployment update feature is as follows:
- Creating and uploading a blueprint. For more information about uploading a blueprint, see Day-0 use cases.
- Running a day-0 operation, such as installing a workflow or onboarding a server. For more information about running day-0 operations and examples, see Day-0 use cases.
- Updating the blueprint with a new operation. For more information about updating the blueprint, see Day-n use cases.
- Uploading the updated blueprint. For more information about uploading the blueprint, see Upload the updated blueprint.
- Updating the original deployment with the new blueprint ID. For more information about updating the blueprint ID, see Upload the updated blueprint.
- Running the new operation. For more information about running a new operation using the updated blueprint, see Upload the updated blueprint.
