Not only is CI/CD essential for Agile, it also plays a critical role in customer engagement. As Figure 2 shows, CI/CD involves frequent releases; with more frequent releases there can be closure and more frequent customer involvement, which in turn allows for customer collaboration and adaptive planning. This all builds on the foundations of automated testing and a simple product design, without which the cycle is broken, and hence customer engagement, cooperation, and co-innovation are not possible.
