Workloads that require independent Kubernetes clusters at edge sites can deploy a smaller OpenShift Container Platform footprint on edge-optimized Dell platforms.
To optimize system resource usage, many operators are configured to reduce this footprint on a single-node cluster. You can use the Red Hat Assisted Installer portal for deploying a single-node cluster with Internet access (Access to the assisted installer requires Red Hat login credentials.) The assisted installer generates an on-demand discovery ISO that is used to boot the server. From then on, the installation is zero-touch, meaning that everything is driven by the assisted installer service and there is no need for the installation process to contact out-of-band (OOB) management platforms.
